Ayyoub Bouaddi Completes Record Breaking Transfer to Manchester City
Manchester City have officially signed 18 year old Moroccan midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi from Lille on a five year contract. The deal keeps him at the Etihad Stadium until at least 2031 and makes him the most expensive teenage signing in Premier League history.

Manchester City announced on Wednesday that they secured the signature of 18 year old Moroccan international Ayyoub Bouaddi from French club Lille. The teenage midfielder agreed to a five year deal that ties him to the Premier League champions until June 2031.
The total transfer package involves a fixed fee of €95 million with an additional €5 million in performance bonuses. This brings the total value to around £85.6 million. This massive investment easily surpasses the previous Premier League teenage record set when Manchester United bought Leny Yoro for £58.9 million in 2024. The fee also represents a club record sale for Lille, and it overtakes Neymar as the most expensive transfer exit in French football history.
Bouaddi will wear the number 32 shirt, which is the exact same number he wore during his time at Lille. The squad number was famously worn by Carlos Tevez during his highly successful stint at the Etihad Stadium. Bouaddi expressed pure excitement about the move, calling Manchester City the best club in the world and describing the transfer as an absolute dream come true.
Manager Enzo Maresca adds Bouaddi as his fourth major signing of the summer, following the recent arrivals of Elliot Anderson, Jeremy Monga, and Geronimo Rulli. The acquisition is part of a major midfield rebuild for Manchester City following the significant departures of Rodri, Bernardo Silva, and Tijjani Reijnders.
The young midfielder gained global recognition for his impressive performances with the Morocco national team at the recent World Cup, where he helped his country reach the quarter finals. He leaves Lille after making 96 first team appearances. He initially debuted in the UEFA Europa Conference League just three days after his sixteenth birthday.
