​Bright Senior High School delivered a stunning performance to eliminate seeded Ghana Secondary Technical School from the 2026 National Science and Maths Quiz.

The private school finished the contest with a winning score of 53 points. GSTS placed second with 40 points, and Presby Senior High Technical School from Aburi managed 25 points.

​The contest at the CNC Auditorium began with GSTS taking an early advantage. The seeded school led Bright SHS 20 to 18 after the first round and widened the gap to 26 to 23 by the second round.

However, Bright SHS took control during the riddles section. The private school correctly answered four riddles in a row to earn eight crucial points and completely erase the lead held by GSTS.
​Bright SHS kept the pressure on in the third round and fully completed their comeback in the fourth round.

The final results marked the first time that GSTS has lost its seeded status in the history of the national competition.
​With this dramatic victory, Bright SHS advances to the next stage of the tournament. They currently stand as the only private school remaining in the race for the 2026 championship trophy.
