Cristiano Ronaldo has been suspended for 30 days and fined €255 by the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) after leaving Portugal’s national-team camp amid a disagreement with head coach Jorge Jesus.

The incident occurred before Portugal’s Nations League fixture against Denmark. Ronaldo reportedly became frustrated after being left as an unused substitute in Portugal’s 2–1 victory over Norway, claiming that the coach had broken promises regarding his playing time.
Jesus denied that any agreement had been made, while leaving the door open for Ronaldo to return to the national team.
Following the incident, disciplinary proceedings were opened against the 41-year-old forward. The federation subsequently upheld the charge and imposed a 30-day suspension alongside a €255 fine.
Ronaldo later apologised for leaving his teammates and for failing to acknowledge supporters after the Norway match. He also made it clear that he wanted to continue representing Portugal and remained available for selection after serving his punishment.
Despite the controversy, Portuguese Football Federation president Pedro Proença has expressed a desire to see the national-team captain return.
Ronaldo’s international future remains a major talking point, but retirement has not been announced.
