The New Patriotic Party has officially elected its new national executives following a marathon voting session at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi. Former General Secretary John Boadu successfully captured the National Chairperson role, while Justin Kodua Frimpong secured an overwhelming mandate to retain his position as General Secretary.

The Electoral Commission officially declared the results in the early hours of Sunday morning after thousands of accredited delegates cast their ballots under a massive security deployment in the Ashanti Regional capital. The highly anticipated elections concluded a tense campaign season as the ruling party assembled its leadership team ahead of the 2028 general elections.
John Boadu emerged victorious in the fiercely contested National Chairperson race, validating late electoral projections and benefiting significantly from the last-minute withdrawal and endorsement of Sammy Crabbe on Saturday morning. Boadu successfully fended off strong challenges from former Energy Minister Boakye Agyarko Kyeremateng and former National Chairman Paul Afoko to secure the party’s highest administrative office.
In the General Secretary contest, incumbent Justin Kodua Frimpong dominated the polls to secure a decisive supermajority. He comfortably defeated challengers including Sylvester Tetteh, Eugene Boakye Antwi, and Charles Dwamena. The victory confirms his strong grassroots support and institutional backing from regional chairmen across the country.
The Electoral Commission also declared winners across several other critical national portfolios, highlighted by a significant shift in the vice presidium:
Kojo Fosu Boadu, popularly known as Kojo Bamba, stunned pre-election forecasts to secure the 1st National Vice Chairperson position. Henry Nana Boakye took the 2nd National Vice Chair slot, while Nana Akomea captured the 3rd National Vice Chair seat.
Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover was elected National Organiser, bringing his strong regional mobilization experience to the national front.
Mavis Hawa Koomson secured the National Women’s Organiser position with a commanding victory over Safia Mohammed.
Abanga Yakubu Fusani emerged as the newly elected National Youth Organiser after securing strong backing from university and northern youth bases.
Dennis Edward Miracles Aboagye was affirmed unopposed as the National Communications Director.
The newly elected executive committee faces the immediate task of unifying the grassroots base and addressing internal frictions following a grueling campaign cycle. Their primary mandate will be constructing a formidable and cohesive political machinery as the party prepares its strategic roadmap for the 2028 national elections.
