The Ministry of Education has announced a slight delay in the release of the Computerised School Selection and Placement System results for the 2026 and 2027 academic year.

While there were expectations that the placements would come out on Monday, August 31, the official release date is now Friday, September 4. This updates some recent rumors that suggested a September 5 release date.
​According to a press release issued on Sunday, August 30, the Ministry made this decision after receiving requests from parents, students, and Heads of Schools. These groups asked for additional time to properly submit and upload candidate data onto the platforms of the West African Examinations Council and the placement system.

​The Ministry noted that the extension is necessary to ensure every qualified student has their information accurately captured for placement into Senior High Schools and Technical and Vocational Education and Training institutions. Recent data revealed that approximately 20,000 eligible students have not yet had their school choices uploaded by their respective schools or guardians.

​This extra time will help ensure that no eligible student misses out on the placement exercise due to incomplete submissions.

Officials are urging all affected stakeholders to use this revised timeframe to finish uploading any outstanding information. The Ministry reassured the public that it remains committed to conducting a fair, transparent, and orderly placement process that gives all qualified candidates a smooth transition into their next phase of education.
