More details have surfaced in the ongoing police investigation of a fatal shooting at Beach Drive Estate in Tuba. The attack occurred on August 6, 2026, claiming the life of 54 year old car dealer Mohammed Rahman and leaving his 53 year old wife Christiana Fosu with severe injuries.
Recent reports indicate that the firearm used in the murder was allegedly stolen from the residence of former Ghana international footballer Asamoah Gyan. The two primary suspects, Adams Adder Almeida and his brother Bala Bilyon, are already standing trial for the murder. They are now facing a separate court case connected to an armed robbery at the home of the former Black Stars captain, where a pistol and other valuables were taken.
During police interrogations, Adams reportedly confessed to shooting the couple. He told investigators that he committed the act because Rahman repeatedly called him lazy and useless, which he claimed affected his mental health. Following his arrest, Adams led police to the room he shares with his brother Bala. Officers discovered the suspected murder weapon hidden under a wardrobe. Bala was also taken into custody because he worked closely with the deceased car dealer.
The victims were initially rushed to Finney Hospital in Weija, where Rahman was pronounced dead upon arrival. His wife was later transferred to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, where she is currently receiving treatment and recovering.
Meanwhile, police are still searching for a third suspect identified only as Gideon. Adams told investigators that Gideon was the person who originally handed him the weapon. Authorities visited the residence of Gideon in Tuba, but he was not found at home. The Accra Regional Police Command is continuing its search to locate him as the court proceedings for the two brothers continue.
