The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is moving forward with its roadmap for the upcoming National Executive Elections. The party just finished the first major step. Candidates hoping to run for leadership positions had between August 17 and August 22, 2026, to pick up their official nomination forms.

Now, the next exciting phase begins. Starting today, August 23, and running until Saturday, August 29, 2026, candidates will officially file their nominations. Frederick Opare-Ansah, Chairman of the National Officers Elections Committee, announced that candidate vetting will happen right after, from August 31 to September 3.

The official documents show some big names entering the race. For the General Secretary role, four candidates including incumben Secretary ,Justin Kodua Frimpong, Eugene Boakye Antwi, Sylvester Tetteh, and Charles Dwamena are competing. Mavis Hawa Koomson is one of three women running for National Women Organiser, alongside Perpetual Ekua Lomokie Akwada and Safia Mohammed. Additionally, Dennis Miracles Aboagye and Evans Kodom are going head-to-head as the two aspirants for National Communications Director.

All of these steps follow a strict schedule to ensure the process remains fair and transparent. The final voting day to choose the new national executives is scheduled for October 3
