The Ghana Police Service has officially declared 40-year-old Barbara Asantewaa Kodua, the operator behind the controversial "Ghana Jollof" TikTok account, wanted for allegedly inciting violence. The ongoing crackdown, which includes the arrest of a senior nurse suspected of acting as a liaison, has ignited fierce debate, with prominent figures criticizing the police for selective law enforcement.

A major political and legal storm is brewing across Ghana following a police crackdown on the popular and controversial anonymous TikTok account known as "Ghana Jollof".
On Thursday, September 17, the Ghana Police Service issued a wanted person notice for 40-year-old Barbara Asantewaa Kodua, whom authorities have formally identified as the face behind the online persona.
According to law enforcement, Kodua is wanted in connection with an alleged case of inciting violence.
Police records indicate she was last seen at the Accra International Airport on August 4, 2022, and is currently suspected to be hiding in the United Kingdom.

Operating as an outspoken activist for the New Patriotic Party, the account has built a massive following through politically charged commentary, frequently launching verbal attacks targeting President John Dramani Mahama, First Lady Lordina Mahama, and other prominent political figures.
The investigation took a dramatic turn this week with the arrest of Salomey Awity Baffoe, a 40-year-old senior nursing officer and mother of three from Techiman.
Baffoe was reportedly apprehended by security operatives in a midnight raid at her residence. Prosecutors allege she served as a local liaison for Kodua, helping to recruit individuals to circulate the controversial videos.
She has been charged with abetment of crime, specifically the publication of false news, and has subsequently been remanded in custody for two weeks as investigations continue.
However, the swift actions of the police have drawn sharp criticism from various public figures, who are raising concerns about the selective application of the law. Actor and known political supporter Prince David Osei took to social media to publicly challenge the authorities, questioning why similar crackdowns were not initiated against other online commentators who have previously insulted traditional rulers and political leaders.
Legal activist Oliver Barker-Vormawor also weighed in, condemning the arrest of the nurse and questioning the legal basis of the wanted notice.
As the hunt for Kodua continues, the unfolding saga has ignited a broader national debate regarding freedom of expression, political accountability, and the impartiality of the nation's security agencies
