St. Augustine’s College has officially sailed through to the semi final stage of the 2026 National Science and Maths Quiz. In a thrilling quarter final contest held on Sunday, August 30, 2026, the Cape Coast based school closed out the competition in style to book their place in the next round.
Competing in Contest 3 of the quarter finals, St. Augustine’s faced off against St. John’s Grammar School and Aburi Girls Senior High School. By the end of the contest, St. Augustine’s College secured a decisive victory with a final score of 47 points. St. John’s Grammar School finished in second place with 27 points, and Aburi Girls SHS ended the contest in third place with 25 points.
Supporters of St. Augustine's erupted in celebration and chanted their popular slogan “Action Nkotssiii” as the school confirmed its semi final qualification. The victory serves as a major boost for the school following a highly controversial One Eighth stage contest against Anlo SHS and Kumasi High School earlier in the week.
With this win, St. Augustine’s College joins Prempeh College and Pope John Senior High School in the semi finals. The next round is scheduled for September 3 as the remaining top schools across the country battle for the national championship.
